We all agree that Erdoğan is on a path towards dictatorship wrapped in a 200 year old populism. However, the president of the EU Commission shouldn't have let him humiliate her and Europe. It's not the protocol, protocols are chosen depending on the visitor, it is Ursula. She's been incapable of making Astra-Zeneca fulfil its contractual obligations, the vaccine roll-out has been appalling and now this. When Macron and Merkel stepped in and chose her over candidates voted by European citizens it was a risky move. We choose Ursula because we know better than you. If her presidency isn't flawless they are also accountable. This political bartering has to stop and the EU Commission needs the democratic legitimacy that comes with being elected and accountable to the voters.
We are eager to know how Europeans feel about closer integration, building the United States of Europe and any issue or news related to the EU and the European integration process
